Each year, I attempt to watch every film nominated for an Oscar in each category. Generally, this means I have between 45 and 55 films to watch in a given year, depending on how many films receive many nominations. Last year I saw, prior to the Oscars, 58 of the 63 nominees (the remaining 5 of which I have seen since). This year, the task before me is a little more manageable, with only 53 films in total to see.
Since we've now had almost 2 days since the nominees were announced, I thought I'd make my initial post, and the 18 films I'm starting the run having already seen (including a few I watching in the last 2 days). I have one category out of 24 completely viewed (Animated Feature), and am well on my way to having a few more all wrapped up as well.
