Tim Alexander is an American visual effects artist. He went to college as an Electrical Engineering major and found that the mathematics behind electrical engineering are the same as used in image processing/ compositing. He got interested in film after seeing a presentation on the visual effects of Terminator 2: Judgment Day and realized how the technology could be used to create really cool visuals. He got an internship with Buena Vista Visual Effects, which led to a job with Buena Vista before joining Industrial Light & Magic. He has worked on such films as E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982), James and the Giant Peach (1996), Star Trek: First Contact (1996), The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997), Contact (1997), Titanic (1997), Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace (1999), The Perfect Storm (2000), The Village (2004), Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005), Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2009), Rango (2011), and The Lone Ranger (2013).
