The Father is a 2020 drama film about a dementia-riddled man named Anthony whose entire worldview starts changing before his very eyes. The film is directed and based on the play of the same name by Florian Zeller, who also co-wrote the script with Christopher Hampton. The film stars Anthony Hopkins, Olivia Colman, Mark Gatiss, Imogen Poots, Rufus Sewell, and Olivia Williams. It premiered at the Sundance Film Festival on January 27, 2020, and was released theatrically in the United States on February 26, 2021, and soon to be released in the United Kingdom on June 11, 2021.
