The Dirty Dozen is a 1967 war film about Major John Reisman training twelve convicted felons to eliminate Nazi higherups in order to make D-Day easier for the Allied soldiers. The film is directed by Robert Aldirch, is written by Nunnally Johnson, and had its story developed by Lukas Heller, based on E.M. Nathanson's book of the same name. The film stars Lee Marvin, Ernest Borgnine, Charles Bronson, Jim Brown, John Cassavetes, Richard Jaeckel, George Kennedy, Trini Lopez, Ralph Meeker, Robert Ryan, Telly Savalas, Clint Walker, Robert Webber, Donald Sutherland, Tom Busby, Ben Carruthers, Stuart Cooper, Colin Maitland, and Al Mancini. It was released on June 15, 1967.
