Terrence Malick is an American film director, screenwriter, and producer. To date, Malick has directed five feature films over the course of nearly four decades. Though his body of work is fairly small, his efforts are highly regarded, and several of his films are considered by many to be masterpieces. Malick was nominated for Academy Awards for Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Director for The Thin Red Line, and his films The New World and Days of Heaven were each nominated in other artistic or technical categories.
