Solo: A Star Wars Story is a 2018 American science fiction film based on the Star Wars character Han Solo. Directed by Ron Howard, produced by Lucasfilm and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, it is the second Star Wars anthology film following Rogue One (2016). It stars Alden Ehrenreich, Emilia Clarke, Woody Harrelson, Donald Glover, Thandiwe Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Joonas Suotamo, and Paul Bettany. Solo was screened at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival. It received generally favorable reviews from critics who praised the film's acting performances (particularly Ehrenreich and Glover), visuals, musical score, and action sequences, while some felt its storyline was predictable.

Plot[]
Young thief Han Solo is forced to abandon Qi'ra, his partner-in-crime, and escape imprisonment by joining the Empire, but meets her again three years later as part of a smuggling crew. Teamed with fellow pilot Chewbacca, Han reluctantly joins forces with gambler Lando Calrissian as he seeks to ingratiate himself with Qi'ra and outwit the vengeful gangster hunting them.
