Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is a 2021 superhero film about Xu Shang-Chi, son of the leader of the Ten Rings criminal organization Xu Wenwu, being forced to face his former life when it starts to catch up with him. The film is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, who also co-wrote the script with Dave Callaham and Andrew Lanham, with the former two developing its story. The film stars Simu Liu, Awkwafina, Meng'er Zhang, Fala Chen, Florian Munteanu, Benedict Wong, Michelle Yeoh, Tim Roth, Ben Kingsley, and Tony Leung Chiu-wai. The film had its world premiere in Los Angeles on August 16, 2021, and was released theatrically two and a half weeks later on September 3.
