Saving Private Ryan is a 1998 war film about a group of WWII soldiers looking for Pfc. James Francis Ryan in order to send him home per the Sole Survivor Policy. The film is directed by Steven Spielberg and is written by Robert Rodat. The film stars Tom Hanks, Edward Berns, Matt Damon, Tom Sizemore, Barry Pepper, Giovanni Ribisi, Jeremy Davies, Vin Diesel, Adam Goldberg, Ted Danson, Paul Giamatti, Denis Farina, Joerg Stadler, and Harve Presnell. It was released July 24, 1998.
