Never Look Away is a 2018 German drama written and directed by Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck. It stars Tom Schilling, Sebastian Koch, Paula Beer, Saskia Rosendahl, Oliver Masucci, Evgeniy Sidikhin, Ulrike C. Tscharre, and Hanno Koffler. Inspired by the life of Gerhard Richter, who sees the film as an "abuse and grossly distort[ing]" of his biography. It was selected to be screened in the main competition section of the 75th Venice International Film Festival.

Growing up in Nazi Germany and then in Soviet-occupied Dresden, art student Kurt chafes at the restrictions imposed on him by political ideologies. After falling in love and finding freedom in Düsseldorf, Kurt revels in being able to express his creativity as he wishes, although his work remains informed by the ordeals suffered by his entire generation.
