Moonlight is a 2016 American drama film written and directed by Barry Jenkins, based on the play "In Moonlight Black Boys Look Blue" by Tarell Alvin McCraney. Filmed in Miami, Florida, beginning in 2015, the film had its world premiere at the Telluride Film Festival in 2016.
