Mank is a 2020 biographical film about screenwriter Herman J. Mankiewicz who, while recovering from a broken leg he received from car accident, is hired to write the script of Orson Welles' Citizen Kane. During this, the film continuously cuts back and forth between that and flashbacks to the 1930s which explore Mank's relationships with Marion Davies and William Randolph Hearst. The film is directed by David Fincher who based the film on a script that was written by his father Jack Fincher back in the 1990s. The film stars Gary Oldman, Amanda Seyfried, Lily Collins, Arliss Howard, Tom Pelphrey, and Charles Dance. Released by Netflix, the film began a limited theatrical release on November 13, 2020, followed by digital streaming on December 4.
