Life is Beautiful is a 1997 Italian dramedy about a Jewish man named Guido protecting his son during the Holocaust. The film is directed by Roberto Benigni, who also co-wrote the script and developed the story with Vincenzo Cerami. The film stars Benigni, Nicoletta Braschi, Giorgio Cantarini, and Giustino Durano. It was released in Italy on December 20, 1997, and later in the United States on October 23, 1998.
