Jojo Rabbit is a 2019 American comedy-drama written and directed by Taika Waititi, based on Christine Leunens's book "Caging Skies". It stars Roman Griffin Davis, Thomasin McKenzie, Scarlett Johansson, Taika Waititi, Sam Rockwell, Stephen Merchange, Rebel Wilson, Stephen Merchant, and Alfie Allen. The film had its world premiere at the 44th Toronto International Film Festival on September 8, 2019, where it won the top prize, the Grolsch People's Choice Award. It was released theatrically in the United States on October 18, 2019, and in New Zealand on October 24, 2019 and polarized critics, drawing mostly praise but also criticism for its comedic portrayal of Nazis, although the performances were generally lauded. It was chosen by the National Board of Review and the American Film Institute as one of the ten best films of the year. At the 77th Golden Globe Awards the film was nominated for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy and Best Actor – Musical or Comedy.

Plot[]
A WWII satire that follows a lonely German boy named Jojo whose world view is turned upside down when he discovers his single mother is hiding a young Jewish girl in their attic. Aided only by his idiotic imaginary friend, Adolf Hitler, Jojo must confront his blind nationalism.
