Sleepy Hollow is a 1999 American horror film directed by Tim Burton. It was adapted based on the short story by Washington Irving and stars Johnny Depp, Christina Ricci, Christopher Walken, Miranda Richardson, Michael Gambon, Casper Van Dien and Jeffrey Jones. It is the first film by Mandalay Pictures. Development began in 1993 at Paramount Pictures with Kevin Yagher originally set to direct Andrew Kevin Walker's script as a low-budget slasher film. Disagreements with Paramount resulted in Yagher not directing and Burton was hired to direct in June 1998.

Plot[]
The curse of the headless horseman is the legacy of a small town called Sleepy Hollow. Constable Ichabod Crane is called in to investigate three murders. Through his investigation he learns of the legend of the Headless Horseman, but he doesn't believe that the stories are true - until he sees it right in front of his very eyes. Through the investigation he learns of the history of the horseman, town secrets and more.
