Emerald Fennell is an English actress, director, producer, and writer. She began her career as an actress with roles in movies such as Albert Nobbs, Anna Karenina, and The Danish Girl, but wouldn't get any international fame until she became a regular on the TV series Call the Midwife at the end of the series second season. After she left the series at the end of its sixth season, she gained an interest in writing and directing. She became a showrunner on the series Killing Eve, which helped her get a script she had written to get off the ground which also became her directorial debut.
