Coming 2 America is a 2021 comedy film and is the sequel to the 1988 film Coming to America. Set 30 years after the previous film, Akeem Joffer, king of the African nation of Zamunda, must return to New York to look for his long-lost son in order to have an heir to the throne. The film is directed by Craig Brewer and written by Kenya Barris, David Scheffield, and Barry W. Blaustein, with the latter two developing its story with Justin Kanew. The film stars Eddie Murphy, Arsenio Hall, Jermaine Fowler, Leslie Jones, Tracy Morgan, Kiki Layne, Shari Headley, Teyana Taylor, Wesley Snipes, and James Earl Jones. Released by Amazon Prime, the film streamed digitally on the service on March 5, 2021. The film also features the final performance of Louie Anderson released in his lifetime, as he died 10 months after its release.
