The 83rd Academy Awards ceremony, presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, took place on February 27, 2011, at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California. The awards ceremony honored the best films of 2010 and was televised in the United States on ABC with a viewership of 37.90 million people. Actors James Franco and Anne Hathaway co-hosted the event for their first time.
Inception and The King's Speech were the big winners of the year, with four awards apiece. The Social Network won three awards, while Alice in Wonderland, Toy Story 3 and The Fighter each came away with two trophies.
The Academy also recognized Kevin Brownlow, Jean-Luc Godard and Eli Wallach with Academy Honorary Awards, and awarded Francis Ford Coppola the Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award
