Looking at the way we're currently doing categories, I've been thinking that we could be doing it in a clearer way. I'm specifically thinking of the difference between Category:2012 films and Category:2013 nominated films. Logically, a film can only be a 2013 nominee if it was released in 2012 (based on Academy rules). But right now looking at cats (and an inconsistency on person articles), it's not clear if a given film was released in 2012 or 2013. Does it make sense to consolidate the two categories so that a film's (or person's for that matter) nomination year is the same as the year the associated film was released? Thus, Amour (a film released in 2012) would be both in Category:2012 films and Category:2012 nominated films? Likewise, Michael Haneke would be a 2012 nominated individual instead of a 2013 nominated individual?

Last year, some of the Wikia Community Team created pages for likely nominees based on buzz and other awards wins/nominations. While we ended up deleting quite a few articles because the film or person within wasn't nominated, it was really handy on nomination day to just go to many of the pre-existing pages and adding the relevant nomination information. What's the consensus about doing that this year? If we were to do it, what would we include on each article (I assume not galleries of pictures for films that may not get nominated, for example)?
